Radical Repair is the first work from Caballero’s new series, Speech Patterns, in which the artist expands her inquiries into the materiality of performance.

Each work in Speech Patterns will see Caballero translate the texts she prepares for her performances into physical forms via generative AI and artisanal craftsmanship, examining how language, even in its preparatory state, inhabits space and assumes sculptural presence.

Radical Repair, rooted in a performance during Berlin Art Week, embodies intent—the moment before utterance—capturing the architecture of thought, rhythm and potential that underlies the speech-act.

Entre domingo y domingo

This installation, which shares its title with Caballero’s first book of poetry, employs a minimal material vocabulary: everyday clothing, red thread, poems printed on fabric, and a great deal of silence. In the book, every alternating poem is a “Sunday.”

Following the creative cadence of the book, the Sunday-poems are printed on T-shirts; the non-Sunday poems on collared shirts. The contrast—sweat versus starch—signals the two invented rhythms that shape our weeks: the forward-facing that pulses out and the private that sustains.
