Mark Strand is a Pulitzer Prize-winning former U.S. Poet Laureate. As such, he gets to be offensive, like he is in the poem above.
In all fairness, though, he is offensive to everyone. And funny. Plus, Strand must include himself in the laughable equation as he is the one recording it.
I place him as more of an unruffled monkey. Sadly, I have to admit the social worker curse for myself.
