The Parable of Mom, the Dork

  
After reading several YA novels and a mystery  novel with a cross-dressing detective, my pregnant brain felt ready for something more serious. So I tried reading an experimental postmodern Russian novel. Alas, I underestimated how pregnant my soul is. 
My heart simply could not get behind my reading choice.  After three pages of the introduction, I gave up. At least, I managed to find the fantastic passage above from Franz Kafka’s “On Parables.”  

It spoke to me much in the same way the daughter in my belly did: “Mom, really, quit being such a dork.”
