Domingo 2

Domingo 2, co-created by Julián Brangold and Ana María Caballero, sets the ache of longing against the stark background of concrete citylife. This work summons a vast spectrum of emotions–from apocalyptic nostalgia to the alienation derived from a life dominated by technology and its social networks.

Urban decay is palpable and gives rise to an emptiness that is at once intimate and universal. Sound design is a crucial component to this piece–Brangold and Caballero wield voice as an instrument, placing it at the service of both the sentimental and the intellectual.

This poem is part of Caballero’s book Entre domingo y domingo, with which she became the first woman to win Colombia’s José Manuel Arango National Poetry Prize.

Debuted at Madrid’s JustMAD Art Fair in February 2023.
